Villa Feltrinelli is a stately home on the western bank of Lake Garda, in the vicinity of cities of great artistic interest such as Verona, Milan and Venice. This private parkland looking over the lake is noteworthy for its old lemon-houses, magnolias, cypress trees, olive groves and Italianate gardens. Guests can relax and play in our swimming pool, where home-made ice creams are also served, or perhaps just take it easy and enjoy the afternoon breeze, and a good book, on our private landing stage. You may also decide to board our launch, Riva, for an excursion to the various lakeside sights of interest. Guests at Villa Feltrinelli have many treats in store for them.
The Feltrinelli family commissioned the villa in 1892 as a retreat providing an escape from the heat of the summer in Milan. It was constructed in the neo-Gothic style by architect Alberico Barbiano di Belgioioso. The decor of this summer retreat includes fine wood panelling, wood inlay ceilings, stained glass windows and delicate frescoes.
Villa Feltrinelli was restored in 1997 and transformed into a deluxe hotel by the famous hotelier, Bob Burns, the founder of Regent International Hotel. Guests seeking respite from the hectic rhythm of today's life can now enjoy the timeless charm of the location and premises of Villa Feltrinelli. The restoration work was conducted in a manner in keeping with the original structure, fully conserving the refined elegance of the interiors and highlighting the crafted decor work.
Villa Feltrinelli is timeless, like the stupendous craftsmanship we find in the decor. A timelessness reflected also in the homely welcoming atmosphere that one might expect, like in a private home. It's a joy just to wander through the rooms, admiring the antique Venetian mirrors, the marble stairways and many, many other details attesting to the grandeur of an age gone by. The villa stands amid fabulous gardens. Our guests shall delight in the marvels of this natural setting, the fragrance of citrus fruits and the many spring flowers and tree-lined avenues.
